Insurance is as much a part of our lives these days as sliced bread, the mortgage, computers, family holidays or the commute to work to earn our daily crust.
But everything we do in life involves us in some form of risk, great or small, even if we don't think too much about it.
After all, no matter how careful we are, the unexpected happens, and how we come through the small setback or the traumatic crisis is often dependent on how prepared we are.
One way to be prepared is to be insured, so that if there are any financial implications we don't suffer as a consequence.
How many of us, for example, would drive without any insurance, not least because it's illegal to do so?
How many of us would take out a mortgage loan without covering ourself against illness, or even worse?
What about our possessions, the valuables found in our home that we've spent years accumulating? Yet so many people in the UK fail to insure their personal possessions against accidental damage or loss.
Then there's the long-awaited holiday to some sun-soaked destination that's cost us an arm and a leg. Who of us would
not take out some sort of holiday insurance, just in case the unexpected happens?
Insurance, whether it's general insurance, to cover a holiday or home contents, or life assurance, to protect our family in the event of the death of the breadwinner, is an indispensable part of everyday life.
Yet few of us know very much about such an important topic. Hopefully, we at 121 Finance Finder will change all of that!
